Choice
of scales, temperatures, operating modes and GLP are at your
fingertips with the PTR 46 series. Versatility is the main
feature of the PTR 46 and 46X models. The 46 button keypad,
with dedicated function and alpha-numeric keys in the standard
"Qwerty" layout, gives easy access to the many programmable
features of these models.
Available
for the sugar industry is the PTR 46X, which measures apparent
sugar purity when connected to an Optical Activity Polarimeter.
A simple
key press gives access to up to 14 scales; refractive index
(RI), Brix (% of sucrose), temperature corrected Brix, temperature
corrected RI, and up to 10 user programmable scales. You also
have a choice of measuring modes: in Continuous mode, the
PTR reads all the time and samples can be read in the same
way as the PTR 2 model. Single Scan mode allows you to program
the instrument to wait a pre-set time to allow for stabilization
and then to scan, display, and hold the result. By selecting
AutoPrint mode, the operator can set a time interval for automatic
print-outs to monitor a changing or flowing sample. In Stability
mode the automatic measuring system within the instrument
intelligently decides when the sample has come to a stable
reading, and only then outputs the result. The operator can
set the level of stability to ensure that the accuracy required
is obtained time after time, in the shortest possible time.
The "Qwerty"
format keypad on the PTR 46 series makes entering "GLP"
(Good Laboratory Practice) data, straightforward. Time, date,
and instrument serial number can be output to a printer or
computer along with every reading, and the instrument can
also be set up to ask for a number, or up to 6 other parameters
specified by the user, to fully identify the sample. The titles
of these parameters can have up to 20 characters (letters,
numbers, or spaces) and can be in any language.
