Master Range

A versatile, easy to use range of liquid reference standards for checking the calibration of all types of manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic refractometers. Build confidence into your routine laboratory or quality control procedures by regularly checking the calibration, using a convenient liquid material from our Master Range.

Standard Range

A versatile, easy to use range of liquid reference standards for checking the calibration of all types of manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic refractometers. Build confidence into your routine laboratory or quality control procedures by regularly checking the calibration, using a convenient liquid material from our Standard Range.

Solid Calibration Standards

Published data for silica and crystalline solids gives accuracy to at least the 5th decimal place of RI. Achievable accuracy will depend upon the specification of the refractometer being checked.

Supplied as 10mm diameter x 5mm thick discs to suit all Index Instruments automatic digital refractometers or any refractometer with a circular prism of more than 10mm diameter. Full details and procedures for the use of solid test pieces are provided with the test pieces, together with recommendations as to which contact fluids are suitable for each application. All standard test pieces are supplied with a statement of Refractive Index.

UKAS Certified Liquids

Index Instruments' associated company, Optical Activity Ltd. is a UKAS Accredited Calibration Laboratory (No. 0527), and therefore Index Instruments can offer a range of calibration liquid standards with UKAS Certificates of Calibration for verifying and calibrating any refractometer.

The shelf life of these liquid standards is 12 months. Accuracies vary from +/-0.02% Brix to +/-0.1% Brix, depending on value.
