The
ATM-420 has been specially designed to meet the needs of the
sugar processing industry. The color of refined beet or cane
sugars is determined according to internationally accepted
ICUMSA method 4 and a direct read-out is given in Milli-Absorbance
Units (MAU's). A standard RS232 output is provided for recording
results on a printer or PC.
Only the
highest quality optical components have been specified in
the design and construction of the ATM-420. These include
a narrow bandwidth interference filter which can be fine tuned
to ensure the greatest possible wavelength accuracy. The light
source has its own lamp house for easy alignment and adjustment.
An optional
cell holder accessory for shorter path-length sample cells
is available. This is ideal for measuring raw or brown sugars.
The cell holder will accept most standard spectrophotometer
cells.
