Hinged
Sample Cover
(type FC1)
|
The
GPR 12-70 is normally supplied with a standard hinged
sample cover (type FC1) illustrated below. This
very popular cover gives close temperature control
when connected in series with the thermostatting
fluid flow to the prism jacket. Suitable for all
types of sample from water clear solutions to thick
pastes.
Material:
316 stainless steel
Sample
quantity required: 0.1ml to 0.3ml
For
complete versatility we offer a range of alternative
cells, all easily interchangeable by the user.

|
Funnel/Flow
Cell
(type FC2)

|
Clean,
quick and easy to use for all samples that will
pass easily through a 5.5mm bore tube; each sample
is poured into a funnel displacing the previous
one. Provided with fluid connections for close temperature
control. Can also be connected for continuous flow
measurements. Hinged locking mechanism for easy
cleaning.
Material:
316 stainless steel with Nitrile O-ring (O-rings
made of other materials for special applications
can be quoted on request.)
Sample
quantity required depends on the sample; about
10 to 20ml for flushing. Static volume approximately
3.5ml including immediate piping.
|
|
Non-Contact
Sample Cover
(type FC3)

|
Suitable
for the measurement of prepared solid samples such
as glass or plastics, also useful for sticky substances
as the cover does not touch the sample. Thin liquids
can be measured with this cover, but a larger volume
is required than with the contacting covers. With
this cover, temperature control depends on conduction
from the prism and plate.
Material:
Delrin
Average
sample quantity required: up to 1.5ml for liquids;
solids must be specially prepared.

Micro
Flow Cell
(type FC7)

|
This
cell has a static volume of about 0.2ml and can
be filled and emptied using a hypodermic syringe.
It is also ideal for automatic sampling (use, for
example, with the Index Instruments Indexpump 300
cell filler/sampler). Close temperature control
is possiible with this cell; connect in series with
the thermostatting fluid flow to the prism jacket.
Hinged locking mechanism for easy cleaning.
Suitable
for fluids that will pass along a 1 to 1.6mm bore
tube.
Material:
(parts that contact the sample) 316 stainless
steel, Nitrile O-ring (O-ring can be supplied
in other materials - specify the material required
or alternatively the application and we will attempt
to find suitable materials for you.)
Requires
between 2 and 18ml (very much dependent on the
sample and, for example, the length of connecting
pipes) when used with an automatic cell filler.
With
this cell, the sample is prevented from contacting
the silicone rubber sealant between the prism
and stainless steel top plate. With a suitable
choice of O-ring, it can therefore be used for
aggressive samples.

|
Larger
Volume Micro-Flow Cell
(type FC7L)

|
This has the same general specification and external
appearance as the FC7 type, except that it is fitted
with 3.5mm bore sample inlet and outlet tubes. The
static volume is about 0.5ml and it will therefore
require slightly more sample for complete purging.
This version of the micro-flow cell was developed
for denser solutions i.e. those, which have difficulty
in passing through a 1.6mm bore tube. (Samples which
aggressively attack silicone rubber should not be
used with this cell.) |
Micro-Dot Sample Cover
(type FC6) |
Designed
with the perfume industry in mind, this cover requires
just one dot of sample to make an accurate measurement.
Ideal as an additional cover for measuring expensive
calibration liquids when your normal sampling method
uses a flow cell. It is a non-captive cover without
temperature control, relying on conduction from
the prism.
